Xeriscaped Yard
The United States currently withdraws over 300 billion gallons of fresh water per day from streams, reservoirs, and wells. Much of this fresh water is used for situations where either, a) non-potable water or, b) less water could be used, such as for watering yards and gardens. By creating a landscape around their home known as xeriscape, the 1327 Magnolia home will rely on a reduced amount of water for the survival of plants and grasses. Xeriscape by basic definition is a type of landscape approach that minimizes water use as well as maintenance. Drought-tolerant plants and native plants and grasses are two characteristics often found in a xeriscaped area.
