Energy Efficient Lighting
According to ENERGY STAR, the 5 highest used lighting fixtures in a home are the kitchen light, living room table and floor lamps, bathroom vanity, and outdoor porch light. By using energy efficient lighting, it not only reduces the household’s energy consumption and bill each month, but it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions. ENERGY STAR states that if every American were to change out their 5 highest use fixtures and replace them with energy efficient models, together it would “keep more than one trillion pounds of greenhouse gases out of our air – equal to the emissions of 8 million cars. That's a $6 billion energy savings for Americans, equivalent to the annual output of more than 21 power plants.”
